Thanks for an amazing Shenandoah Adventure Weekend
What a fantastic weekend! Thank you all for coming out and racing with us. We hope you had a great time trekking, biking, paddling, and navigating around Shenandoah River State Park and George Washington National Forest. The weather was awesome and so were you.
It was great to see all the families getting out together and doing things they may have never done before or in quite the same way! The AquaBlazers rocked their paddle and trek, and the Strong participants definitely showed up with their guns out, proving who is Shenandoah Strong! The 26-hour Epic participants did a fabulous job of braving the cold river, rappelling off Buzzard Rock, and trekking and biking their way up and over Massanutten Mountain and in SRSP. We are continually amazed with how much you all push yourselves and the passion you have for Adventure Racing.
We have the results posted here. We believe most the standings in each category are accurate, but we still have some cleaning up to do. Please just let us know if you see something that needs adjusting.
Bushnell Photography was on site taking some great shots of the AquaBlaze, Strong, and Tenderfoot Adventure Race, and Vlad Bukalo captured lots of Epic shots. They are busy combing through the gazillion of photos they took, but once the full galleries are available, we will post some on our Facebook page with a link, and we also will share the link via email.
We had a lot of wonderful support this weekend from local businesses. We’d like to thank Performance Sport & Spine for sideline medical support all over the course, Downriver Canoe Company for hosting and providing boats and transportation, Front Royal Canoe Company providing boats and transportation, Po’ Green’s for the post-race BBQ, and Pavemint Taphouse & Grill for free growler fillups! And a huge thank you to all our volunteers--we couldn't do it without you.
