6 & 12-Hour options

Shenanduro

If you raced at the Shenanduro the past 2 years, then you know what a good time it is! If you haven't, now's the time to join us for this day of endurance trail running and/or mountain biking, camaraderie, chilling with your teammates in the pop-up tent city, cooking out, and maybe getting muddy.

Description

Join us for this day of mountain biking, camaraderie, chilling with your teammates in the pop-up tent city, cooking out, maybe getting muddy, and definitely having a great time on some of the best trails in Virginia. It's fast and smooth and really, really fun out there at Shenandoah River State Park! Test your endurance by taking on the 6-hour mountain bike course, as a solo, or on a 2 or 3-person team.

We'll be doing (really good) prizes (warning: this gets pretty competitive!) and music changes per crowd request every hour. We'll have the grill going with burgers and dogs. The river is handy if you need to cool off, and we'll have a firepit going when your legs need a break. It's a good time, y'all.

Included:

  • A great course through Shenandoah River State Park and along the South Fork of the Shenandoah River

  • Chip timing and real-time lap results

  • Live tracking so you can see where your team mate (or competition) is on the course.

  • Great swag

  • Prizes for top three winners in each division

  • An awesome time in a beautiful place with family and friends

Mountain Bike

The single track at Shenandoah River State Park will have you smiling all day long. Each loop will be approximately 8 miles and will contain a mixture of two-track gravel and single-track trail. The team and soloist completing the most laps in 6 hours wins. A tie in lap count is determined by the fastest combined lap time including pit stop and transition times. Racers will be able to start a new lap 45 minutes before the race duration cutoff. Teams race in a relay format and pass off to the next teammate in the transition area. There is no limit to how many times a teammate can do a lap before they hand off to another teammate. Team participants can go in any order. We will have plenty of space for you to set up your pit stop area for rest, recovery, and camaraderie.

While biking each racer must have:

  • Mountain bike or cyclocross bike

  • Helmet (CPSC, ANSI, or SNELL certified)

Virginia State Parks Adventure Series

We are excited once again to be part of the Virginia State Parks Adventure Series. This one-of-a-kind race series includes a wide-ranging selection of competitive events held in Virginia State Parks. Events include adventure races, running events, mountain bike races, cyclocross races, adventure triathlons, sprint triathlons, a one-of-a-kind gravel time trial, and an old-school enduro race. Participants can win great prizes in one of two ways, either by amassing points in the Competition Category or by simply participating in a varying number of races.

By racing in the Shenanduro, you are automatically added to the series and will earn points toward series prizes.

You can learn more about the series here.

Timing

Racers will be timed using MYLAPS Chip timing. You will also get a tracker that will track your location on the course every 60 seconds so your team mate(s) knows if they have time to hit the bathroom or grab another drink before you roll on through the transition.  For teams, your tracker will act as your batton.

All awards are based on chip times.
