About Bike Your Park Day
Every September, cyclists across the country celebrate Bike Your Park Day—a chance to explore public lands on two wheels. Virginia State Parks offer guided and self-guided rides through stunning landscapes, from mountain trails to riverside paths. Whether you're chasing adventure or soaking up nature, there's a ride for you.

Schedule
Morning Group Ride
Time: 9:00 AM
Start Location: Downriver Canoe Company
Join a 60-minute intermediate ride tackling Bear Bottom and Redtail Trails. Need a bit more of a challenge? Level up at the end of the ride with a loop on Allen's Mountain trail. A great way to push your limits!
Demo Bike Rentals
Time: 09:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Location: Downriver Canoe Company
Test ride a hardtail or full-suspension e-bike. Trail maps and route suggestions provided. Pre-register online to reserve your demo—just $10 per bike, per hour. Reserve your bike here.
Self-Guided Discovery Ride

Pick up a Discovery Map and set off on a self-guided adventure. Find hidden features, explore at your own pace, and win prizes for your discoveries!
Bike Maintenance 101
Time: 12:00 PM
Location: Downriver Canoe Company
Learn how to fix a flat, troubleshoot tubeless setups, and keep your bike trail-ready. A hands-on session covering essential maintenance tips for every rider.
Afternoon Group Ride
Time: 2:00 PM
Start Location: Downriver Canoe Company
Enjoy a relaxed, no-drop ride along the scenic river trail. About 60 minutes of easy cruising, with optional detours to upper trails based on group ability. All skill levels welcome!
