2018 Spring Thaw Trail Run Series

That's right.... We have four Spring Thaw events this year on Virginia's fabulous trails! Our 6th annual Spring Thaw Trail Series offers five weekends of trail runs (and mountain bike races, too, if you like) on three different trail networks to challenge all abilities. Race once or a few times, or tackle all the Thaws (at an amazing price)!

At Sky Meadows, you’ll tackle 5K or 10K on awesome trails through meadows, woodlands, pastures, historic farmland, streams, forest, and scrub, leading up to the mountain ridge and fabulous views…and it’s all just an hour west of DC, half an hour from the suburban hustle of NoVA, and right around the corner from some great VA wineries on the eastern side of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Wine at the finish line! Once again, we've partnered with the folks at Early Mountain Vineyards in Madison, VA to bring you a fun-filled day of trail running and then settling in with a fine Virginia wine in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Early Mountain, part of the Monticello Wine Trail, is set on a historical site with gorgeous grounds and a downright awesome tasting room. The onsite trails you'll be hitting up are a perfect length for a single loop 5K and two loop 10K course. Once you cross the finish line each participant can partake in a wine tasting (included with the registration fee)!

Join us at Pocahontas State Park on their flat and scenic trails. Pocahontas is Virginia’s most popular state park thanks to its amazing offerings, and you can’t beat the location just minutes from Richmond! Choose your distance--a 5 mile or 10 mile trail run--and we'll see you at the start line!

So good we have to keep it in the series! Conway Robinson State Forest is a fast and fun venue for the Spring Thaw. This 444-acre forest nestled in the heart of suburbia has fast, not-technical single and double track that is just a ton of fun for running (and riding). The trails are a perfect length for a single loop 5K and two loop 10K course.

SPECIAL YOUTH PRICING: All participants age 16 and younger can race any distance for $20. When you enter an applicable birth date at the registration page, you will see a "Special Pricing" option to click. (No other discounts can be applied.)

SPECIAL “THAW DEAL”: Race all 4 for $100 (shorter distances) or $125 (longer distances). Tempting, right?! Deal ends midnight on March 2.

Every participant will receive a sweet hat at their first Spring Thaw race! Event shirts are available for purchase during online registration up to 10 days before the event for $10. If you have already registered and would like to purchase a shirt, click the shirt below, then More, then Add-Ons.
